Create an account and save your login details
Open the account creation page in the Z8VPN user dashboard and follow the prompts to choose a username and password. No email address is required; you can create an account with a username and password. Choose a username that is easy to recognize and keep long term. Use a unique password and save it in a trusted password manager. Before submitting, check for accidental spaces and make sure the password and confirmation match.
Once finished, open the user dashboard and make sure it shows the account you just created before choosing a plan. If you land on a login page, sign in with the username and password you saved. Don’t create another account just because the dashboard overview didn’t open automatically. On a shared device, don’t save your login session. Sign out before leaving and clear any account details copied to the clipboard.
Your account login and client configuration are separate. Use your dashboard credentials to manage plans, orders, and support tickets; use the subscription link to load servers in a client. Never paste your dashboard password into a client’s subscription field. Keep the dashboard open after this step and check which billing option suits you.
Choose a plan and check your order status
Go to the plans section of the user dashboard and decide between a monthly subscription and a data package. Monthly plans suit regular use, with data resetting each month on the activation date. Data packages suit occasional or variable use: the data lasts until it’s used and never expires. Consider your usage pattern before comparing data amounts. Don’t choose based on price alone, and remember that unused monthly data doesn’t roll over.
Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. See the plans page for full pricing and billing details. If you upgrade partway through a plan, the price difference is converted into remaining days. If you already have an active plan, review the changes shown in the dashboard before confirming your order.
Select a plan in the dashboard and check its name, price, billing terms, and data allowance before following the prompts to pay. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported; follow the instructions shown for your chosen payment method. After paying, return to the dashboard and check the order. Don’t assume the plan is active based only on a confirmation on the payment page. If the order is still processing, refresh its status and check the payment record before trying again.
Once your plan is active, open the account overview to get your subscription. Z8VPN supports unlimited devices and offers a 14-day refund policy; see the refund policy for details. This information can help you decide whether the service is right for you, but it does not change account eligibility or regional rules on other websites.
Get your subscription and choose an import method
Open the account overview in the user dashboard and check your current plan, remaining data, and active status. Once you have an available plan, find the subscription or client import option. Your subscription provides the client with the server configuration for your account and syncs server details when refreshed. It is not a website to browse to or an installer for the client.
If the dashboard offers an import option for your installed client, use it first. Your browser may ask whether to open the app. Check that the app name is correct, then continue and confirm the configuration appears in the client. If your system says there’s no app to open, install a client as described in the next section and try again from the dashboard. Don’t use download links from unknown sources.
To import manually, use the dashboard’s copy function to copy the subscription link, then paste it into the client’s subscription settings. Keep the link intact: don’t add quotation marks, change any parameters, or include extra spaces or line breaks. If the dashboard offers several configuration formats, choose the one that matches your client rather than guessing based on a similar name.
Treat your subscription link as sensitive account information. Don’t post it in public forums or paste it into unfamiliar online conversion tools. This guide does not show real subscription links. When reporting a problem, you can describe it as “update failed” or “server list is empty,” and redact links and account details from screenshots. Once you have your subscription, continue with the instructions for your device.
Import your subscription on each platform
Get clients from the download page in the user dashboard rather than searching for installers with similar names. Clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux are available after you sign in. The iOS download option requires a purchased, unexpired plan. Downloading a client and getting a working subscription are separate steps: after installing the app, import your configuration to see the available servers.
Windows: Find the import settings in the desktop client
In the dashboard, choose the Z8VPN client for Windows and follow the installation prompts. Open the app, then go to its configuration or subscription settings. Choose the option to add a remote subscription or import from a link, paste the subscription you copied, and save. If the dashboard supports direct import, you can also start there and then return to the client to check the result.
After saving, refresh the subscription and wait for the server names to appear. Select the configuration you just imported. If you see a configuration name but no servers, check the subscription update before connecting. Once the server list appears, turn on the client’s connection or system proxy feature. Approve any system network permission prompts. When verifying the setup, check both the client status and the result in your browser.
macOS: Import the configuration before connecting
Get the Z8VPN client for macOS from the dashboard and follow the system prompts to install and open it. The configuration settings may be in the main window or in the settings for a menu bar app. Find the subscription or configuration manager, add a remote configuration, and paste the link. If you import directly, make sure your browser is opening the installed client.
Refresh the subscription, check the server list, activate the right configuration, and then turn on the connection. If macOS asks to add a network configuration, verify the app’s source before continuing. Don’t disable system security features to troubleshoot a routine import issue. If another proxy app is running, stop its connection first to avoid apps repeatedly changing system proxy settings and causing a mismatch between the displayed status and actual access.
Android: Approve the network connection request
In the dashboard’s download section, choose the Z8VPN client for Android and follow your device’s installation prompts. Open the app and go to its configuration, subscription, or add-configuration settings. Choose the option to import from a link and paste your subscription. If the app can read from the clipboard, check that it picked up the full subscription rather than the dashboard page URL.
Save and refresh the subscription, select a configuration and server, then start the connection. Android may ask for permission to add a VPN connection. Confirm the prompt comes from the client you just installed, then allow it. This permission lets the client handle relevant network requests; it is separate from your dashboard login. If the connection drops when the app is in the background, check your device’s background activity settings. Don’t enable every system permission by default.
iOS: Get the client from the dashboard
First, check in the dashboard that your plan has been purchased and hasn’t expired. Then open the iOS client option and follow the instructions to get the compatible app from the App Store. Availability depends on what the dashboard and App Store currently show. If the dashboard says an active plan is required, return to the account overview to check your plan status instead of looking for an alternative installer or configuration profile from an unknown source.
After installing the app, use the matching import option provided by the dashboard if available. To import manually, add the link in the client’s subscription or configuration settings, then save and refresh. Once the server list appears, select a configuration and connect. Allow the request to add a VPN configuration when iOS prompts you. The connection icon is a useful check, but open the target service too to confirm requests are using the selected server as expected.
Z8VPN also supports Linux. Check the dashboard’s download page for client instructions for that platform. To use the service on multiple devices, import the subscription separately in each client; you don’t need to copy system proxy settings between devices. If a platform’s configuration options differ significantly from these steps, see the Help Center before repeatedly importing an incompatible format.
Connect to a server and check access
After importing your subscription, choose an exit location that meets the target service’s regional requirements, then connect. For general web browsing, you can start with a nearby server. For AI tools or streaming platforms with regional requirements, first check which regions the service supports. Don’t judge suitability by distance alone: a nearby location may not meet the platform’s rules, and a successful connection doesn’t guarantee that all of the platform’s content will be available.
After connecting, check that the client shows an active connection, the configuration is the subscription you just refreshed, and the selected server matches your chosen region. Then open the target website and try loading a page or completing a routine task. If the client provides request logs, check whether the target domain appears and which rule handled it. Some rule modes send certain sites directly, so not every website will use the same exit location.
If a site won’t load, retrace the setup: first make sure your device has a working internet connection, then check whether the subscription updates and the server list is complete, and finally confirm the connection switch and proxy mode. Change only the relevant setting at a time and note the result before and after, so you can identify the cause. If the same error persists on another server, record the service name, selected region, and client message. Don’t change several system settings at once.
If a platform says a region isn’t available, check your account region, content licensing, and the platform’s own terms of use. Your network exit location affects the connection route; it does not replace platform account requirements or change content licensing. For more troubleshooting, see the Help Center. For a detailed overview of connection types and plan choices, see the guide to choosing a cross-border network service. This page focuses on the steps needed to complete setup.
Once the connection is verified, keep the working configuration and refresh the subscription through the client as needed. When switching devices, repeat the import steps. If you change plans, check the status in the dashboard before refreshing the client configuration. For help, submit a ticket in the user dashboard with your platform, where the issue occurred, the error message, and the steps you’ve tried. Redact your password and subscription link.
