Account & Server Help
Find help by issue, from subscription setup to payment records. For connection problems, compare your local network with different exit servers before submitting details that can help reproduce the issue.
Account & Subscriptions
Check your account status in the panel first, then update your client. Your account credentials and subscription link serve different purposes; keep both secure.
Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep your login details safe and store them separately from your client subscription link. The configuration name shown in your client is not your login username, and saved connection profiles cannot replace your account credentials. If you can’t log in, check your keyboard input, letter case, and any spaces before or after your details. Never post your password or full subscription link in a public forum. For account ownership issues, contact support through the options available in your account panel.
Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update it in my client?
Sign in to your account panel and find your subscription details in the account overview. Use the panel’s copy or import option to add them to your client. Imported configurations can usually be updated from the subscription or configuration page; the exact label depends on your client. After updating, check whether the list of locations has changed and select a server again. If the update fails, make sure your local network can reach the panel and your subscription is active, then retrieve the link again from the panel. Don’t append parameters to an old link yourself.
Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch computers or add a device?
Z8VPN supports simultaneous connections on unlimited devices, so changing devices alone doesn’t mean you need a different plan. Supported platforms include Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to the same account on the new device, open the client download page, and import your account subscription. Usage across multiple devices still counts toward your account’s data allowance; unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data. When you stop using an old device, delete its subscription configuration to avoid exposing your account details if you pass the device on.
Can I share my subscription link so someone can help troubleshoot?
Your subscription link contains credentials that can retrieve your account configuration, so treat it as sensitive information. For troubleshooting, it’s usually enough to share your client name, operating system, error message, and selected server. Don’t post the full link. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your subscription URL, account credentials, and sensitive order details. If the link has been exposed, check your account panel for a reset option. After resetting it, retrieve a new configuration on every client you still use. If the panel has no reset option, describe the issue in a support ticket.
When should I choose a monthly plan versus a data pack?
A monthly plan may suit regular use and month-by-month data management. A data pack may suit less predictable usage or if you want unused data to remain available. Monthly plan data resets each month on the date you activated it. Data packs last until used and never expire. Before choosing, check your current plan and data balance in your account. A server name still appearing in your client doesn’t mean your subscription is active. Confirm plan data and pricing on the plans page and in the order confirmation. Your client’s configuration list isn’t proof of billing.
Connections & Troubleshooting
Check your local network, account status, client configuration, and target app in that order. Avoid changing several settings at once so you can make useful comparisons.
My client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check first?
Pause the proxy and check whether your local network can access commonly used websites. Then reconnect and verify your account subscription status. Check that your operating system allows the client to add a network configuration, and that system proxy or tunnel features are enabled as required by the client. If you’re running another proxy or network filter, temporarily disable it and test again. Finally, try different websites and exit locations. If nothing loads, the issue is more likely to be your local setup or connection. If only one website fails, check your routing rules and the platform’s location requirements.
Why does my browser work through the proxy, but an app doesn’t?
Apps can use different network interfaces. Some don’t follow the system proxy, or client rules may route them directly. Check the client’s current mode and the rule for the app, then see whether its requests appear in the connection log. If your client offers tunnel mode, review its permission requirements and enable it if needed. Then fully close and reopen the app. Don’t rely on a browser extension to determine the proxy status of your whole device. The app’s own location, account, or network policies may also affect access.
How do I troubleshoot a failed subscription import or an empty server list?
First, confirm that your subscription details are visible in the account panel, then use the import method recommended for your client. When copying the link, check that nothing is missing or padded with spaces, and that you haven’t copied the panel’s web address instead. If it worked before, try updating the existing configuration and note the exact error from your client. If the list is still empty, check your account status and local network. Avoid adding duplicate configurations. When submitting a support ticket, attach a screenshot of the error with sensitive details hidden so support can distinguish a formatting issue from an access problem.
How do I reconnect after changing networks or waking my device from sleep?
Changing networks or waking from sleep can interrupt an existing connection. Make sure your device is online, then disconnect and reconnect in the client. If needed, select the current server again. If the issue only occurs in the background, check your operating system’s background activity and power-saving restrictions for the client, and adjust them as needed. Don’t repeatedly replace your subscription configuration before your network is back online. If the connection drops every time in the same situation, note what triggers it, any system messages, and a summary of the client log error, then submit a support ticket.
Why does a platform still say my location isn’t available after I change servers?
A server’s exit location is only one factor a platform may consider. Your account region, content licensing, existing sign-in session, and app cache can all affect the result. Check that the selected exit location meets the service’s requirements, then close and reopen the app. If needed, refresh your session as directed by the platform. If only one title won’t play, distinguish a content licensing restriction from an access issue affecting the whole service. Changing servers doesn’t override the platform’s account eligibility rules, and the platform may not always accept a particular exit location. Use the platform’s actual error message to guide troubleshooting.
Speed & Servers
Assess regional eligibility separately from connection performance. Loading a website, maintaining a session, and using a specific feature are different things to check.
How can I tell whether peak-time slowdowns are caused by my local network or the server?
Pause downloads and sync tasks that use your network. Compare how commonly used websites perform with the proxy off, then try a different exit server on the same device and local network. If local access is also slow, check your Wi-Fi signal, router, and local network first. If only a particular exit is slow, compare other servers in the same region or a different connection type. Change one factor at a time and keep track of the results. Video buffering can also be caused by the streaming platform, so one stuttering playback session doesn’t mean all servers are down.
How should I choose between IEPL, relay, and direct connections?
Server labels describe how a connection is routed; they don’t guarantee a particular speed in every situation. IEPL can be worth comparing if cross-border connection stability is a priority. Relay connections use an intermediate node, while direct connections depend more on the route from your local network to the exit server. First, check which region the service requires, then compare the available options in your client. Results may vary at peak times, across networks, and between apps. Choose a server that suits the task rather than relying on the connection type alone.
Which regions are covered, and is a nearby server always faster?
Z8VPN covers 100+ countries with 210+ routes. See your account panel and updated client configuration for the exit servers currently available to you. Geographic distance is only one factor: local routing, cross-border links, and the location of the service you’re accessing all affect performance. For services with location requirements, choose an eligible region first. For general browsing, compare servers in nearby regions. Coverage figures don’t mean every region offers the same connection types, and a nearby city doesn’t necessarily mean a better connection.
Do I need to switch regions often when using AI tools or streaming services?
Check the platform’s supported regions and account rules first, then choose an eligible exit server with reliable performance. Frequent server changes aren’t ideal for long-running connections or ongoing playback, as you may need to start a new session after switching. If a website loads but a feature doesn’t work, note the exact message and check whether the issue is related to account permissions, regional eligibility, or network connectivity. Streaming libraries vary by region and licensing, and AI tools may change their access policies. A network service doesn’t replace a platform subscription or guarantee that every feature will always be available.
What details should I include in a support ticket to help narrow down a server issue?
Include your operating system and client name, local network type, selected region and connection type, target app, when the issue occurred, and the exact error message. Describe what you’ve already tested: whether switching servers helped, whether the problem persisted on another network with the same device, and whether the browser and app behaved differently. Include only the relevant error lines from logs, and hide account credentials, subscription links, and other sensitive details before sending. Focus on steps that reproduce the issue; simply saying that it doesn’t work usually isn’t enough to identify where the problem occurs.
Billing & Refunds
Check the price, data allowance, and billing period separately. For payment or refund questions, refer to the original order to avoid confusion from duplicate actions.
How much do monthly plans and data packs cost?
Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packs: ¥158 for 300GB · ¥358 for 1000GB · ¥658 for 3000GB. Data packs last until used and never expire. When comparing options, remember that monthly plan data resets each month, while data pack data remains available until used. Before placing an order, check the plan name, price, and data allowance. For existing subscriptions, refer to the confirmation in your account panel. If you’re unsure, check with support through a ticket.
When does monthly data reset, and what happens if I upgrade mid-cycle?
Monthly plan data resets each month on the date you activated the plan. For a mid-cycle upgrade, the price difference is prorated against the remaining days. The reset date isn’t the first day of each calendar month, and you shouldn’t estimate the remaining service time by simply subtracting list prices. Before making a change, check your current plan, its status, and the upgrade confirmation in your account panel. Keep the relevant order details. If your client and account panel show different information, update the configuration and check the billing details in the panel. If the difference remains, submit a ticket describing the before-and-after status.
Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan doesn’t update after payment?
We accept Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Before paying, check the plan and amount due on the order in your account panel, then follow the instructions on the current order page. If your account status hasn’t updated after payment, check the order status, refresh the account overview, and make sure you’re signed in to the account used to place the order. Don’t pay again just because the page hasn’t changed yet, and don’t use payment details from a different order. If the payment still isn’t matched, submit a ticket with the order information and proof of payment with sensitive details hidden so support can investigate.
How do I request a refund, and what information do I need?
Z8VPN offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy. Check the refund policy for details on eligibility. To request a refund, sign in to your account panel, open a support ticket, and provide the relevant order information so the account and payment can be verified. If you’re also experiencing connection issues, describe them for troubleshooting, but don’t send your password or full subscription link. Check your ticket for updates on the refund request. Keep your order and support records, and reply in the same ticket if more information is requested.
Do data packs expire if I don’t use them for a long time, and how can I check my remaining data?
Data packs last until used and never expire. Check your remaining data in the account panel. Your client’s connection statistics can help you monitor usage on that device, but they don’t replace your account’s billing records. When using multiple devices, the statistics on one device won’t show the account’s total usage. If the figures don’t match, check whether you’re viewing a monthly plan or a data pack, and see whether other devices are still connected or downloading. For further help, attach relevant screenshots of your account page and client statistics to a support ticket.
